As a competitor you can generally camp on the regatta area (de Punt) or on camping ‘It Soal’. In case of a large event we use the grass area parallel to the beach. ‘De Punt’ is a large daily recreation area at the end of camping ‘It Soal’ in Workum (website), adres Suderséleane 29 - 8711 GX Workum tel nr: +31 (0) 515 541 443 fax: +31 (0) 515 543 640. On the next picture you see left above ‘De Punt’. You can reach this location by entering the camping and follow the road. At the end of the road you turn to the right. At the end you find automatically ‘de Punt’ (map). Pay attention to the maximum speed limit of 10 km/hr.

Located on ‘de Punt’ you will find the regatta office and the starting vessel from Sailing Club Workum (map). If you want to find this location in Google Earth (location picture) or in your navigation kit you have to enter the coordinates 52°57'46.47"N, 5°24'48.43"O.
First you have to register at the reception before you get access to the camping and to ‘de Punt’. The reception is opened from 8:00 tot 23:00 hour. After 23:00 hour the barrier is closed. Registration is also obliged to all visitors. The access to the camping is provided with a camera system which will automatically recognise the registered cars. Park your car not in front of the barrier when you register but on the parking area near the reception. Pay attention to being in time because registration will take some time! If it is impossible to arrive between 8:00 tot 23:00 hour you better previously contact the reception (Tel. +31 (0) 515 541 443).
Camp on ‘de Punt’ is not for free. You have to register and pay at the reception of the camping. The use of all facilities of the camping are included. In principle there will be no water and electricity available on ‘de Punt’.
Near the Regatta Office and on the camping area wireless internet will be available (it is not for free).
A restaurant is located near ‘de Punt’ at the end of the camping. Sometimes registration of competitors will be on this location.
Ribs have to launch on the Marina. You pass the Marina on your left site before you reach the camping. A sign shows you where to launch. If it is a small event it may be possible to launch your sail boat or rib on the slipway near ‘de Punt’. Please pay atention to the competitor information on this site. You have to park your trailer on the parking area opposite of the marina. There is a (limited) possibility to berth your rib in the small marina near by ‘de Punt’. Take notice of the reserved places for committee boats!
If you are a competitor you have to calculate at least half an hour before you reach the starting area. Keep distance to all other boats in the marked fairway when you enter the IJsselmeer.
